E-Waste Collection Day

Posted on Thursday, November 14, 2013 at 03:41 PM
Your unwanted electronic devices can buy food and winter clothing for our neighbours in need.

Cash4Cans ‘n Stuff, the recycling program that supports the Community Cupboard, now accepts e-waste.

e-wasteWe’ll take your old computers, stereos, TVs, printers, scanners, photocopiers... Anything with a circuit board, LCD screen, or electrical cord! Cables, too.

Many of these items do a lot of damage to the environment when they break down in landfills.  When recycled safely by trained professionals, however, their components are useful and valuable.

Items may be dropped off:

Saturday, 30 November 2013
10:00 a.m. to 2 p.m.

in the church parking lot
(entrance off Church Street)

Cash4Cans ‘n Stuff also collects other recyclables, including any metal-containing items, batteries, appliances, beer/wine/liquor containers—so bring whatever you’ve got lying around.

During the last two years, the program has diverted more than 11,000 lbs of recyclable material from the landfill, raising over $2,600!  Visit www.cash4cans.net for more information.

Many thanks to community members and our church-at-large for helping provide funding and other support!

All people regardless of personal beliefs are welcome to visit the Community Cupboard.  If you want to know more about Jesus Christ or about Christian beliefs, please help yourself to the printed material on display.  A pastor is also happy to meet with you.  Just ask.

Jesus . . .

Posted on Thursday, October 24, 2013 at 01:30 PM

“Come to Me, all you who are weary and burdened, and I will give you rest.”

This Sunday, and every Sunday, the Lord Jesus Christ will be among us as we receive His life-giving Word.

Divine Service
Sundays at 10:00 a.m.

Come gather with your fellow travellers.  Bring your burdens and weariness.  Give them to your Saviour who died and rose and lives for you.  Leave with the peace that only He can give.

Jesus Christ is the Light of the world, the Light no darkness can overcome.

I heard the voice of Jesus say, “I am this dark world’s light.
Look unto Me; thy morn shall rise and all thy day be bright.”
    I looked to Jesus and I found in Him my star, my sun;
And in that light of life I’ll walk till trav’ling days are done.
