What's so good about Jesus' ascension into heaven?

Posted on Sunday, May 20, 2012 at 07:50 PM

Ascension of Christ; Ephesians 1:23Friends from around the Kitchener-Waterloo area gathered for the Festival of Christ's Ascension last Thursday evening.  The special service included musicians and pastors from area Lutheran Church Canada congregations.

"Circuit" services have become a tradition in recent years, marking Epiphany, Ascension, and Reformation.  Congregations take turns hosting, and all are welcome to join in celebrating these festivals that are sometimes overlooked but nonetheless rich with good spiritual food.

So, what's so good about Jesus' ascension into heaven?
Listen to Pastor Emeritus, the Rev. Dr. Roger Winger, as he speaks on "Ascension Joy and Power":
